Little Libraries(c) Design Contest for Little Library(c) Structures

Friends of the Eastpointe Library are looking for individuals, groups and businesses to create a Little Library(c) design. Little Libraries(c) contributes positively to the community by providing free books. “Take a book-return a book” is the motto. The Friends would like to see these structures added to five (5) of the Eastpointe Parks; Kennedy, Memorial, MIDog, Rein and Spindler.
Requirements:
*At least 4 cubic foot area for books
*At least 2 shelves
*Lowest shelf should be approximately 2 feet from the ground
*Constructed with weather-proof materials (fee free to use recycled materials)
*BE CREATIVE
*Design plans submitted no Later than February 29
5 winning designs will be announced on March 28.
Onsite construction will be completed by June 4.
WINNERS WILL RECEIVE $150.00 DURING THE UNVEILING OF THE WINNERS AND WILL BE RECOGNIZED BY HAVING A PLAQUE WITH THEIR NAMES ON THE LITTLE LIBRARY(C).
