Japanese Balloon Bombs

April 17, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

| donation

Japanese Balloon Bombs a presentation by Mike Unsworth.

Balloon bombs aimed to be the silent assassins of WWII. Hitching a ride on a jet stream, these weapons from Japan could float soundlessly across the Pacific ocean to their marks in North America. The project, named Fugo, called for sending bomb-carrying balloons from Japan to set fire to the vast forests of America.
Could Balloon’s launched from Japan make it all the way to Michigan? Did they actually do any damage?
